Side channel, also known as aeration blower, is a positive displacement pump in which the kinetic energy of the motor is transferred to the impeller through the shaft and the air/gas transfer is carried out by the rotation of the impeller blades and the vortex force created, which can be direct or with the help of an intermediary. In the process of gas transfer by side channel, air is drawn into the device and after being compressed, it is directed towards the outlet by the rotation of the impeller. The side channel pump can be used for both suction (suction) and blowing (discharge) air.
