How Microswitches Work
A microswitch, sometimes called a “miniature snap-action switch”, is a type of momentary switch that is widely used in automotive, industrial, and medical applications as a sensor.
The switch is named “Micro” after the company Micro, the first company to commercially manufacture this type of switch. The actuator of these switches often has a rotating wheel above a push button. The switch is widely used in control system applications such as safety switch connections in elevators, vending machines, etc.
